Planned Giving

In the News

Senior Board Member, active volunteer, and generous donor Jim Zarling has become the latest member of the Board of Directors to document a Planned Gift to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson and join the prestigious Heritage Club. Jim's wife, Terri, joins him in making this significant commitment.

"Terri and I are passionate about the Boys & Girls Clubs. Because of my length of service on the Board, I understand the important role of Planned Gifts to the Clubs' long-term future," he says. Zarling joined the Board in 2002 and served as Board President in 2005. He is founder and CEO of Excel Mechanical, Inc.

"It is critical that we increase Board participation in Planned Giving," he adds. "I am only too happy to be in a position to set an example for other Board members. I have been very blessed personally and professionally, and it is a privilege to be able to give back to such a great organization."

Terri and Jim's estate provision caps years of generous annual contributions by the couple to benefit current needs of the Clubs. The most recent gift from The Jim Zarling Family helped make possible the renovation of the CenturyLink Technology Center at the Frank and Edith Morton Clubhouse.

What is the Heritage Club?

The Heritage Club is an association of friends of Boys & Girls Clubs from all across the country. Like you, these people seek to ensure that the future needs of our nation's youth are met by including their local Boys & Girls Clubs in their estate plans. This planning might include a will, charitable gift annuity, a trust arrangement, a real estate gift or a life insurance policy.
